For Total Beginners in Godot, But I Still Learned a Few Tricks

Godot from Zero to Proficiency is a short book that aims to get total beginners up to speed with the Godot engine. The author does not cover programming (this is saved for the second book in the series) but rather just shows how to do basic things using the editor buttons. Even though I have been using Godot for over a year, I still learned a few interesting tricks, so that made the read worth it for me. However, the book is clearly designed for total beginners. Most of the topics are so basic you could probably figure them out just clicking buttons in the interface, but if you are new to Godot this might be a helpful light introduction.
As mentioned before, the book is not super in depth. It covers how to install the engine, navigating the interface, placing objects and modifying them, adding lights, exporting your game, and importing library assets. Very basic stuff. The artwork used in the book is not great, it definitely has a “programmer art” look to it, but it suffices to show you how things work. Honestly the book only scratches the surface, but if you’ve never used Godot before and are a beginner to game development it might be okay. If you have any experience, I would say look elsewhere, though I did learn a few tricks that made it worthwhile (and the price of the Kindle version was very reasonable).
So overall I would say this is one of the weaker Godot books out there, since it only covers a small portion of the engine. It does have good instructions on the basics of the editor, that was nice, but it doesn’t even show any programming. If you are a beginner and read this book, I think you’ll be more comfortable, but still not at a place to start making your game. There is a second part of this series (I will read that next) so that may help fill in the gaps. But considering the reasonable price (on the Kindle) and also that the book only took about 30 minutes to read, I can’t complain.

Pretty solid introduction to GoDot as a complete beginner.
Format: Paperback
I'm not new to programming but I am new to GoDot. I started this book as a complete beginner to GoDot with no other knowledge. This book gives a pretty solid foundation to start with. I'm sure most of this is probably online at this point but it was nice to have something I could easily view offline and come back to.
I took a star off as some parts of the edition I have has minor typos. Nothing that completely derailed my studies but something I had to recheck.

A Good Starting Point
Format: Paperback
I have experience with 3D modeling software and am an experienced programmer. It took me two days to get through the book, and I learned quite a bit about Godot. It would likely take someone completely new to this sort of software quite a bit longer. You could certainly dig up all the information in this book online, but this book walks you through the basics step-by-step and I recommend it as a starting point that isn't going to overwhelm you. I have just ordered the rest of the books in the series.

An excellent and easy intro to Godot
Format: Kindle
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn the sleek, open-source game engine Godot. The engine has so many features but learning the interface and workings of a new engine can be intimidating. This book knocks down that barrier and takes you through learning the interface, in getting comfortable with creating 3d objects, creating a 3d terrain and setting up a maze. It includes a link to resources to get you started. It is a good, basic intro and I'm looking forward to learning more.

The book is missing page 60 in the Kindle edition
Format: Kindle
I actually think the book is really good. I also like the way the content is divided into several books to make the cost of each book inexpensive. However, the Kindle edition that I purchases is missing page 60. I don't know if this was intentional or an oversight. I really want to give the book 4 or 5 stars. I gave it one in hopes of getting someone's attention. I will update this review and change the number of stars once I get an answer about page 60.
